Billy Mays Forever

Published by The Network under Billy Mays

Half the reason As Seen on TV Network exists - Billy Mays - was found dead in his Tampa home this morning. He was 50. At the time of this post, FoxNews.com, MyFoxtampaBay.com, TMZ.com, as well as @youngbillymays ’s twitter stream all confirm the report.

The “Infomercial King” and “PitchMen” star Mays got home last night after being one of the passengers on the US Airways flight from Philadelphia that blew a tire during the landing. Mays was in Philadelphia shooting another OxyClean commercial.

When Fox Tampa Bay asked Mays about the landing, he said, “All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.”

The Mays family is overwhelmed by the support and asks for privacy during this time.

Billy Mays, III, said on twitter:

“With the family. Um… Not quite sure what to say right now. All the support from you guys does help.”

CNN.com published a statement from Discovery Channel stating,“…Billy was a pioneer in his field and helped many people fulfill their dreams. He will be greatly missed as a loyal and compassionate friend…”

We at As Seen On TV Network are shocked and confused at the passing of Billy Mays. As we learn more, we’ll share.

Wherever you are, Billy, may you continue to dazzle the crowds with your charm and charisma.

We’ll miss you, buddy.

PitchMen LiveBlog - Crunch Time- EZ Crunch Bowl - Gator Blades?

Published by The Network under Uncategorized

Tune in tonight as As Seen on TV Network brings another fascinating liveblog of our newest tv addiction: “PitchMen.” The show will air tonight at 10pm EST/9pm EST on Discovery Channel with a reairing 3 hours later at 1amEST/12amEST.

Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan team up to back a new way to enjoy your breakfast cereal. That’s when they’re not having to dodge the “Bug Bazooka” when shooting a commercial for a new windshield wiper. Though the name of the windshield wiper isn’t given, we’ve got our guesses. We think it’s the old Gator Blades:

AND when PitchMen is over, the fun continues at As Seen on TV Network’s Forums! Find your friends and chat in real time about the episode or most anything else infomercial product-related.

But Wait, There’s MORE…Here We Go

What will Billy n Sully pick this week? Ahhh…there’s the Gator Blade. We’ve got a winner…more importantly, our suspicion was confirmed.

Product: The Gator Blade
Inventor: Zach Ritchie

What makes the Gator Blade so spectacular is that it can crush the bugs in the the Florida Everglades and Slush in the winter. Ritchie himself is a full-time inventor. The idea came when he drove into a swarm of bugs and the current wipers didn’t have the friction to remove the bugs. A manufacturing mishap lead to the Chinese prototype needed. Now all he needs is a little Billy n Sully.

“This has to make it for me. I don’t except anything else.” - Ritchie

To wow Billy n Sully, Ritchie suggests a Bug Gun for a Wow demonstration.

Billy is onto another Mighty Product - Mighty Shine - from the family of Mighty Mend-It. Whatca doin’ with that sword and chain mail, Sir Billy?

“How do I go to the bathroom?” - Billy

Ethan Zohn will be pitching the EZ Crunch Bowl soon

Commercial break :11 after

Ethan Zohn is a Survivor winner. Him and Sully met a few ears back. Zohn got the idea for the EZ Crunch Bowl after making himself a bowl of cereal after a night of drinking. He woke up with a soggy bowl of cereal in front of him and figured something had to change.

Product: EZ Crunch Bowl
Inventor: Ethan Zohn

Gator Blades - Ritchie and a budd are inventing the Wow demonstration for the Gator Blades shoot (sorry for the upcoming pun). They’re idea:  Bug Bazooka - a mambo jambo PVC canon with compressed air tanks to shoot bugs out at high speeds.

Commercial break :18 after

The EZ Crunch Bowl has no prototype but breakfast cereal is an 8 billion dollar industry. Only one thing to do:  TELEBrands time.

AJ Khubani’s initial reaction:  “that’s a stupid idea.”

Zohn is pushing the reality star celebrity angle and pushing his stints on talk shows.

Khubani things the idea will sell, but not in DR. Khubani also points out he didn’t think Snuggie or PedEgg would sell in DR either. Khubani doesn’t want to do it, but is trusting in Billy n Sull’s passion and will make prototpes for FREE.

“But it better sell millions. Not just to drunk college kids.” - AJ

Gator Blades shoot time:

3,000 live crickets from a Bug Bazooka is the idea.

“These things have a very short lifespan. And we’re about to make it a lot short.”

Problem:  Billy Mays, III, @youngbillymays, is not a fan. He’s a big bug lover. He’s thinkin’ about saving a few.  And now Billy Mays, III has to clean up the bug mess after takes. He’s not gonna take it anymore! Wait, where’s he going…

“Billlllly,” screams Screams an angered Sully.

Commercial break :29 after

“Billy’s a great kid and he seemed genuinely concerned about the welfare of those bugs…they were gonna get eaten anyway.” - Sully

The bugs are returned safely. That bug bazooka shoots at about 100 MPH.

Sully took a cathartic shot with the bug bazooka.

The shot runs into an issue - product malfunction. Not a good thing is daylight waning.  He’s gonna have to talk to his Chinese production team to see if they can fix the issue.

In between. Billy and Sully have an inventor that can help with the fuel issue. Billy and Sully admit the product is out of there league. Then the next guy brings in the Marco Polo goggles, “Isn’t it a bit dangerous?” - Sully. Then another guy wants to sell a tie with a pocket in back that sells for at least $40(not that a tie tack couldn’t do anything). The inventor even does a handstand to prove how well it works.

Gator Blades edit time. At the same time, Ritchie is trying to fix the issue - why it wouldn’t work in cold weather. The problem seems to be with the rubber. It is soft enough for the bug issue but not hard enough for the winter elements. Ritchie is going to China to figure out the issue.

“I think this is the first time we’ve shot a commercial and have not had a product to ship.” - Sully

Commercial break :44 after

After 8 weeks and 10k, the EZ Crunch Prototypes are done. Time for the focus groups.

“I don’t think it’ll be a home run but I think there are enough cereal enthusiasts to make it worth a shot.”

Video Conference with Ethan and Telebrands at TeleBrands and Billy n Sull with the focus groups (complete with Shameless PedEgg product placement billboard behind AJ). People are spilling it, “It’s okay, I have a ZorBEEZ.

Most of the focus groups have these concerns:  it looks too much like a dog bowl, it’s to big, a notch to keep the spoon from falling in, “if we can’t get around the dog bowl look i’m gonna call it the EZ Dog Bowl.”  - Sully.

AJ sounds like he’s having a change of heart about the product about the product.

Commercial Break :52 after

(just saw a commercial for next weeks PitchMen. Could we see ZorBEEZ coming? to PitchMen?”)

Ethan shoots one last to A before AJ makes up his mind, “one out of every 2 people start off their day with a bowl of cereal.”

TELEBrands deliberation time. AJ’s starting with the negative stuff first. He’s saying the product will need to be redesigned. The compelling part of the product:  the market size. And because of the market size, TELEBrands is gonna take a stab at it.

Ethan’s through the roof in excitement.

“It’s all in the pitch,” - Sully.

“I like the dog bowls…” Billy, “You don’t even need a spoon..EZ Dog Bowls”

Thank you for taking the time out to enjoy our liveblog of this episode of PitchMen. Remember the party continues at As Seen on TV Network’s Forums! And to find all our favorite infomercial products in one spot, check out As Seen on TV Network.

PitchMen! LiveBlog - “Tale of Three Billys”

Tune in for another As Seen on TV Network Blog’s LiveBlog of PitchMen. According to the Discovery Channel website, the episode, “Tale of Three Billys,”  involves not only the Billy Mays we all know and love but also his father, Billy Mays and his son, Billy Mays, III. Not only that, but all three generations come together for the shooting of a new product, “Green Now.”

Step 1, deciding the products. Wow, someone was selling stuff about a calfing rope and an umbrella over a video camera. Which product do they pick? No One! Open Call time at Sullivan Productions…

The products people come up…

“You’d like to take everyone but you can,” Anthony Sullivan.

Then Mark Chester has walked through the store. His product, “Green Again,” a product to help renew the green back in grass.  Environmentally friendly, has fertilizer, dries in 5 minutes so it can stay dry through the rain storm.

“I got to be honest Billy….I love the product,” Sully.

“I love this product, ” Billy.

Mark does a lot of jobs at residential homes and noticed all the brown spots. He did his research and found another product that found what he wanted. He spent many a-dollar to get the R&D together.

“We’ve been waiting all day for this product,” Billy.

Comercial break :10 after

If Billy and Sully love the product, then I’m going to hold off calling the product a, “spray can,” until I hear more…

Field Test:  Billy and Sully take the Green Again out to the dog park to see if it will work. It’s almost amazing how the pet owners the talk to are girls. One pet owner points out how the green is darker than the grass.

“It smells and feels like spray paint,” dog owner.

“I want to know I’m not just spray painting my yard…” another dog owner.

Sully has the product being tested to make sure it’s non-toxic.

Billy Mays, III, is doing a commercial for Dan Wooley’s Ragazzi’s restaurant. Billy Mays is going to star in it. III wrote it, produced it, and directed it. The crew had to work through the lunch rush. If you’re wondering, the owner of Ragazzi’s is Billy’s brother-in-law.

As a show of respect, Sully dawns III’s PA pouch as a sign of respect. The first shots are the closeups.

“I’m sweating like I’m doing a marathon here,” Sully.

Commercial break :19 after

Billy graces his way into Ragazzi’s. “{III} is doing fine but Billy’s come in and all hell’s broken loose…and i’m running out of red wine,” Sull.

“He’s been wining n working. That’s the key to get Sully to work,” Billy.

“Him and his dad are night and day,” Sully.

“I’d work every day if he’d direct me,” Billy about his on.

GreenNow - Billy and Sull get on phone with Allstar Marketing. Allstar looks over the documentation and notes the product is not ready to go. They’ll have to work on another delivery system to make it legal. Mark claims Allstar is being to conservative.

Billy reaffirms his position that he will not put his name to something that is not safe for the environment.

Commercial break :30 after

While waiting for Green Again to get the legalities to sort out, the 3 Bill go to Sully’s house to show Sully Bill Sr’s product:  a rotating taning device. Of course they have to “field test it.”

Sully wants Billy III to get margaritas and Billy can’t take his eyes off the test subject.

Those not on the “Turn Don’t Burn,” are jealous of those who get to test on it. The test subjects love the product. They get to nap and still get an even tan. A price quota of $150 and recommends a cup holder. Sully is convinced. Cruise ships, here they come.

Billy n Sully are going to do R&D to get testing done.

Green Again shoot time. Testing is complete. Now it’s called, “Green Again.” The shoot will take place in Southern California suberbia…

“Hi. Billy Mays here for Green Now…”

Sully wants the grass mowed to get lines. The international grass wars begin. “Seriously, this is lawns of America,” Billy.

“If I had the money, I’d switch the shoot to England,” Sully.

Commercial Break :42 after

Sully mows the lawn and the dry spots show up.

“I don’t think we should mow it,” Sully.

“Good call,” retorts Bill.

Time to bring in the dog. “I speak dog,” Billy. You can tell by the way to dog isn’t listening.

Billy n Sully can’t get the final shot right. “No Vanna White.” - crew.

Commercial Break :51 after

Ragazzi’s shoot is being edited. Billy Mays, III, actually worked at the restaurant when they moved to Florida. Time to show his uncle. Everbody is a fan of the commercial. The owner got to pay in pizza.

Green Now Media Test Results: Mark Chester goes to the door. Billy and Sully are straight-facing it. My guess:  a winner.

“You’re gonna be a household brand,” Sully.

No champagne, but they’re going to celebrate. Way to go Mark.

Tune in next week for another enticing episode of PitchMen, and for all our home and garden needs, check out As Seen on TV Network.

Dryer Balls - Review - Where to Find Dryer Balls

So what if there’s a product for drying your clothes that is cheaper, easier, quicker, “eco-friendly, non-toxic, and hypo-allergenic.” Your Clothes dry faster, smell nicer, feel softer, and come out with less lint attached. Not only that, but the process is natural and doesn’t use dangerous liquid toxins.

What’s the catch? Simple. The catch is that you’ve probably haven’t heard of it yet.

Try this trend:  Dryer Balls. A simple, efficient solution to your drying woes. Dryer Balls are designed to lift and separate clothes as they go through the tumble cycle, giving each piece of clothing more air and space to dry. With a life cycle lasting hundreds of drying, the drying time saved thanks to Dryer Balls will save you money not only on the electric bill but on all the fabric softeners typically used.

Why are Dryer Balls designed with all those tips? It’s so they can massage clothes as they separate, allowing your clothes to be light and fluffy and not pressed into each other.

Where to Find Dryer Balls

Bella Baby Foods - Organic, Wheat and Gluten-Free

Published by The Network under Bella Baby Foods, Kids

organic, wheat and gluten-free baby foodBaby food reminds me of the food NASA astronauts have to eat; all packaged in little compartments and ready to handle Zero Gravity. When I’m forced to navigate the labyrinth most people call a “grocery store” and I stumble past the baby food section, I’ll look at those commodity selections and the first thing that comes to my head is the image of astronauts drinking powdered Tang through a little straw. I find myself taking pity on those little ones who look like their days are spent sucking up processed jelly and slurping down gravy. It’s a wonder more kids don’t have issues growing up.

Then I learned about Bella Baby Foods – tasty, healthy, 100% organic baby food in convenient, portable packaging for the working parents of today.
Bella Baby foods is flash frozen and packaged in 1.5oz servings. For parents, this means they’re convenient, easy to serve, and give you the opportunity to provide portion control to your developing little ones. The portion size also means you can mix and match the selections, providing diversity for your baby. Why not start developing those taste buds early?
For kids, they get a nice, diverse selection of meals. They don’t’ even know how healthy it is for them.

As for the recipe, the “100% organic baby food” means there is no salt or sugar added. And for those kids with restricted diets, Bella Baby Foods is wheat and gluten-free.

Healthy, convenient, and diverse, you can start your children on a healthier road with organic baby food products provided by Bella Baby Foods by going to its As Seen on TV Network-hosted site.
