Hey, Nick! I agree that the Aqua Globes are radical. You have many of my favorite things listed here. Thanks for having left a comment on my blog. Now I have pictures up from our AquaGarden 3.

I lLOVE my aqua globes. I got stupid today and put a full aqua globe on my dining room table. I turned my back and it promptly rolled off, falling to the floor and the stem broke off about 2 inches from the globe. Oh crap I thought. But looking at it I saw that it would still work and deliver the water with the shortened stem, just higher up. I put it in my pot right in the middle, fluffed the foliage around it and it looks awesome- like some special rock coming out of the dirt and nestles ever so neatly and nicely among the foliage- it’s gorgeous. I PREFER it this way I think. The stems are a bit long for my tastes and deliver the water way too far down near the bottom of the pot especially in smaller pots or pots made to not be overly deep. This way the water is released higher up in the soil to filter down and provide water over a larger area and one doesn’t have to worry about the full aqua globe tipping a smaller pot as it’s center of gravity is so much lower.

If I can find someone who knows how to cut glass I think I am going to butcher all my aqua globes to have short stems of 2 inches. If the makers were smart they’d offer an option of having short stemmed globes instead of long stemmed globes. I’m just betting they’d sell as well or better.
