A Father’s Day Poem - 2009
As Seen on TV Network looks forward to Father’s Day every year. Some of us are fathers. Most of us still have our fathers with us. A few of us even have our grandfathers. Regardless of the kind of stock, wealth, abilities, and interests our fathers possess, all fathers should be celebrated equally.
With all these paternal icons revolving about us, we thought we’d pay tribute to those distinguished men by writing about the things fathers need most on Father’s Day – As Seen on TV Network Style. What you are about to read is the poetic equivalent of a child’s first fingerpainting, but like the loving father who hangs the work of art on the fridge, we’re proud.
A Father’s Day Poem - by As Seen on TV Network
Most men, fathers included, become fascinated with power
A thought that consumes them from morning to evening shower
Omni Dual Saw has so much kick it takes two pitchmen to sell it
Spinning Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan into marshmallow-shooting fits
(in different directions)
Dual Saw has counter rotating technology and does tough cuts faster
But for specialized cuts, consider the legendary Fein MultiMaster
MultiMaster cuts through wood like a hot knife through butter
And for metal snips, let Billy Mays sell you the Crocodile Cutter
Not all fathers are craftsmen, builders of castles and towers
But most fathers can hang with their family and laugh out loud for hours
Nothing is better for families than The Red Skelton Show
A program that ended when Red decided not to go on with the show
The Emmy-Award Winner was always jolly and never bitter
The Red Skelton Show is so cool you can follow it on Twitter
Further proof legends never fade, even when the hero dies
The grace and goofiness of Elvis movies will honka-burn up the night sky
But when the family is away and entertainment is at his discretion
Knockout Hockey DVDs can help the old men let out his aggression
And if he wants to watch something and let mom do the supervision
Silver Sonic XL will let him hear without turning up the television
Some fathers have green thumbs and love time in their yard
Because their time in the kitchen left them battered and scarred
Give him a Garden Groom and let him find his landscaping stride
And a Garden Claw for big holes (so he doesn’t hurt his back or pride)
And when he’s down reshuffling the mud and mohawking the shrubs
Somebody, clean the kitchen floors with Rejuvenate so he can enjoy his grub (we recommend a Steam Buddy-ed grill cheese sandwich)
If he’s a father who stays in shape but wants time for his life
a Vibro Belt and 20 minutes, he’ll work out and still see the kids n wife
Wow - with so many important activities to fill a father’s day
He’ll need a classic Renato watch to better keep the commitments conveyed
Whether he worked in the yard or worked out in a hurry
He’ll need something special to clean up in a flurry
And it wouldn’t be a father’s day poem – As Seen on TV Network Style
If we didn’t mention Billy Mays products once in awhile
ZorbEEZ will clean…everywhere! It’s, “ZorbEEZ, *******”
(ZorbEEZ got the Jaboody Dubs treatment and that left us in stitches)
Occasionally, fathers have been allowed a little time to wind down
A little time to laugh and commune with his friends from his hometown
A night to recall his youth, relive past glories and laugh at youthful fears
Before getting down to business and filling his belly full of beers
This Fathers Day Poem pays homage to the tradition of men
And accepts their need to fill up the Beer Tubes and drink now and then.
And when he comes home and needs some time to recover
Give him something healthy while he’s sick and under the covers
Make sure he has a drink that’s refreshing and filled with nutrition
Sharper Image Super Juicer will help him heal from the boyish traditions
But fathers can’t leave without insuring their families are safe and warm
A few Snuggies, a Portable Furnace and gives shelter from the storm
Most fathers covet a simple, quiet spot along the lake
Or a river or stream, with biting fish and lively bait
Help his dreams come true, his dream of a fish story to tell
By giving him a Mighty Bite and time to fish for a spell
Most important of all, when you spend quality time with the old man
Take pictures. Good pictures. Let him know you’re his biggest fan
If you still take them in Analog – yes, the old ways are always better
You can convert them to digital with a Sharper Image Slide Converter
A Father’s Day poem, we know, should be better than this
Father’s Day Poems should be filled with joy, prosperity and bliss
The point was to pay homage to a grand Father’s Day
A simple Father’s Day Poem to show we care in a sincere sort-of-way.
For Father’s Day poems should be written from the heart
Whether we’re published writers or simple bloggers doin’ our part
Happy Father’s Day
