One of the few luxuries I had growing up was going to the Zoo with my mother. My younger sister still holds it over our heads because when she was of age to go to the Zoo, my mother had to work.

I enjoyed the tiger cages, the peacefulness of the giraffes. The monkeys scared me a little…

Unfortunately, we couldn’t go too often and we couldn’t afford our own wild African planes or the giraffes I wanted. Instead, my mother got me Zoobooks.

Parents, don’t feel ashamed if you kids catch you reading a Zoobooks article or two. They’re fun to read for children of all ages.
